New Construction at Hotel Complex
the marriott hotel
It had been over ten years since Trenton, the capital city of New Jersey, had a hotel to serve conferences and visitors. The grand old Hildebrecht, Stacy-Trent, and other hotels were torn down and displaced by office buildings. The Marriott Hotel and Conference Center fulfills this need. Located adjacent to the State House Complex on the banks of Assunpink Creek, it is designed to be a major element in the revitalization of the city. The 153,000 square foot hotel complex has 195 rooms, a restaurant, a conference center, full banquet and catering facilities, and a 500 car garage. It connects to the renovated War Memorial auditorium with its elegant ballroom and meeting rooms. Outdoor courtyards and landscaping creates an urban greenway along the Assunpink Creek.
The hotel serves as an important link between the State House Complex and the War Memorial, the downtown business district, and the historic Mill Hill district. The project received a Phoenix Award in recognition for excellence in Bownfield Redevelopment and an Award of Merit from New York Construction News.
