Renovations
blake hall
The Department of Landscape Architecture is located in Blake Hall on Rutgers Cook/Douglass Campus. Blake Hall was built in the mid 1950s and has undergone major and minor renovations since its completion. Ford 3 created a feasibility study for renovations and alterations which will assure the building may continue to serve the department in the future while also addressing deficiencies noted by the Accreditation Board of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
The phased renovations and alterations of this building added studio space and studio support space, such as pin-up and review areas, gallery space, and model building labs. A renovated lobby and adjacent administrative spaces give the department presence upon entering the building. All changes will enable the building to more effectively accommodate digital technology and the use of computers for design and presentation.
