ias guest house
There could not be a better place for a guest house than Marquand Park, the arboretum created a century ago by Allan Marquand. The Institute for Advanced Study took the house originally designed for Marquand's daughter, Mary Marquand Hochschild to provide housing for visiting dignitaries and Trustees (not your ordinary motel!). To create comfortable bedrooms that enjoyed the lovely views, Ford 3 Architects with help from Amy Karyn Design- used a combination of antiques owned by the Institute with new fabrics and furnishings and decorated each room to suggest a different theme and personality
